2014 Pinot Noir
Our 2014 HERO Pinot Noir was crafted by Derek Rollfs of San Francisco, CA.
This Pinot Noir is a blend of Swan and Pommard clone of pinot noir sourced from Roger Scommegna’s high elevation vineyard - Signal Ridge. It shows off the juicier, plumper stye of this famous grape - full bodied richness with a healthy dose of new oak compliment the jammy cherry-plum fruit flavors. Try this pinot alongside lamb or other roasted meats.
2015 Pinot Noir
Our 2015 HERO Pinot Noir was crafted by Kutch Wines of San Francisco, CA.
A stark contrast to the 2014, this wine plays to the elegance of the cooler 2015 vintage. A blend of 777, 2A, and 115 clones also from Roger Scommegna’s Signal Ridge Vineyard, this wine is a real beauty. Raspberry and bing cherry notes sing from the glass, while hints of cinnamon and pine forest floor give layers of complexity to the wine. A perfect sipper to pair with grilled salmon or BBQ chicken.
2016 Chardonnay
Our 2016 HERO Chardonnay was crafted by Stephanie Rivin of Philo, CA.
A perfect compliment to the Burgundian theme started by Hero’s Pinot Noir offerings, this Chardonnay was sourced from the renown Lolonis Vineyard in the interior of Mendocino County. These are 100% organic grapes. This medium bodied wine is a melange of orchard fruits - apples, apricots, and melon with a dose of tropical pineapple. The bright acidity makes this a perfect accompaniment to a range of foods - from cheese to seafood to chicken and pork.
2015 Red Blend
Our 2015 HERO Red Blend was crafted by Dan Rivin of Philo, CA.
The main component of this wine comes from Zinfandel planted at Roger Scommegna’s mountaintop property - Signal Ridge Vineyard. This gorgeous, hefty, beast of a wine has all the hallmarks of a jammy, dark-fruit zinfandel along with the spicy notes of added Syrah and Petite Syrah. Well integrated tannins and a long, bright finish make this wine a perfect glass to sip alongside a good ol’ steak dinner.
